Chimney Repairs
At 412 Brick Squad Masonry LLC, the safety of our employees and customers is our top priority. We always perform our work using scaffolding erected by certified professionals in compliance with OSHA standards. Care is taken to safeguard the roof surface and prevent any falling objects.
In addition to rebuilding or repointing your chimney as determined during inspection, we offer a complimentary replacement of the terracotta flue liner if any cracks or damages are identified. We also re-caulk the flashing to ensure a watertight seal.
Furthermore, we provide the option to form and pour a concrete cap on top of your chimney, offering a modern alternative to traditional caps. This design features a 1 1/2" overhang that creates a natural drip edge, effectively protecting your chimney from rain and snow.
As a family-owned business with 16 years of masonry experience, we've seen it all when it comes to chimney issues. Some telltale signs that your chimney might need our attention include cracked or missing bricks, white staining (that's called efflorescence), or if your chimney's starting to lean like the Tower of Pisa. If you spot any of these, don't hesitate to give us a ring at (724) 384-9538. We'll come out and take a look - better safe than sorry
Tuck Pointing
If you need an experienced Masonry Contractor for your next project, look no further. We specialize in the meticulous process of brick/stone tuck pointing. Our services include grinding out old deteriorated mortar, cleaning out debris from the mortar joints, and re-pointing using Type N mortar that matches the existing color of your home. Additionally, we ensure a thorough clean-up by washing down all new masonry and the surrounding work area with a light acid-based detergent the following day & sealing it with a breathable water repellent sealer that'll keep it protected from the weather conditions for an additional 10 years.
Question: How often should tuck pointing be done?

Tuck pointing typically needs done every 20-30 years, but this can vary based on your home's exposure to the elements. We recommend a visual inspection every 5 years to catch any early signs of mortar deterioration.
Lintel Replacement
If you notice cracks or broken bricks above your window, door, or garage door, it indicates that your lintel is corroding. Immediate replacement is advisable to prevent further damage. Rust accumulation exerts pressure, causing the structure above to elevate and remain unstable. This can lead to broken bricks, mortar cracks, and water infiltration.
During lintel replacement, we apply a corrosion-resistant coating to each lintel before installation. Additionally, we carefully seal around the window, door, and garage door frames to create a waterproof barrier.
